Handicapped but eternally healed

Handicapped but eternally healed

The believing Chinese family of a 30 year old man with severe learning disabilities asked, "Would be it permissible to baptize him?  He is deaf. His understanding is only that of a young child."
"I would be honored to baptize him," I said. "We would baptize young children. God wants us to baptize adults with handicaps that make them like young children."
So before we enjoyed a memorable meal of local delicacies, we stood in awe at the miracle baptism worked.  Water and the Word assured of faith, forgiveness, and eternal healing.
This man gave no suggestion that he understood what was  taking place, but through that Word empowered water, his heart could tell the difference. The Spirit testified to his spirit that he was washed of his sins through Jesus.  Though he will spend his life here without the level of health we enjoy, eternal wholeness now belongs to him.
Thank God with this family for another evidence of how grace works.
