Shine.cn reports that China’s president said China will
• continue to staunchly stay on the path of peaceful development
• pursue a mutually beneficial strategy of opening-up
• forge a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness, justice and win-win cooperation
• promote coordination and cooperation with other major countries, develop good-neighborly relationship with its neighbors, take a more active part in global governance, and work with the rest of the world to deal with challenges more effectively, the president noted.
Xi also pledged that China will closely connect its own future with that of the world people and strive for both the wellbeing of the Chinese people and human progress.
According to a report in the China News Service, “Once these policies are implemented, foreign investors will enjoy greater access to China's markets, like the banking and insurance sectors. At the same time, intellectual property rights would be better protected and tariffs on imported vehicles lowered significantly.”

At its meeting in late October, China's Communist Party Congress elevated President Xi Jinping to a level of authority not seen since Mao Zedong. It granted President Xi another five years in power as general secretary. But since Xi has no obvious successor in the senior-most ranks he will probably serve well beyond 2022.
In addition, the Communist Party amended its constitution to insert Xi Jinping Thought as a guiding principle for the party. This means Xi now has the same status in China as its most important historical figures, Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.
