What we do
316NOW seeks to raise up leaders in China’s Christian community who understand and promote Confessional Lutheran theology and practice. Our ministry has four major focuses: outreach to Chinese church leaders wherever they live, mentoring and consulting, teaching, and sharing.
316NOW, working with other Confessional Lutheran organizations, is developing a strategy to invite expatriate Chinese church leaders to attend our Bible institute and to benefit from our mentoring and consulting ministry. 316NOW’s Mentoring and Consulting Ministries (MCM) Division exists to help raise up biblically sound Christian leaders in China. MCM works with key Bible Institute students to help them develop into Confessional Lutheran leaders. It consults with the groups those leaders serve in order to guide those mission churches toward spiritual strength and an outreach focus. MCM assists our students in connecting with other like-minded leaders so they build each other up and instruct each other in God’s Word. Learn more here.
Bible Institute
316NOW helps Chinese church leaders grow spiritually through our Bible institute and share what they have learned in their congregations and communities. Our curriculum includes the key teachings of Christianity, the central books of the Bible, and sound pastoral practice. Our classes are taught online by Confessional Lutheran pastors. Spiritual growth for families
Chinese families are struggling. 316NOW offers materials that will transform them into places where God’s grace blesses parents and children.
Sheep to Lambs equips Chinese Christians to teach children about God’s grace in Jesus. This is important in China because it’s illegal to teach anyone under 18 about the Bible. Sunday schools, Christian camps, and Christian schools no longer exist in China. Sheep to Lambs provides training and lesson materials so any teacher can be successful. It also provides age-appropriate and Biblically sound materials for students. Learn more here.
Marriage and family materials 316NOW is building a clearinghouse for marriage and family materials that Chinese church leaders will use to help their congregational families and families in their communities enjoy the blessings of Christ-centered homes. Learn more here.
316NOW makes presentations to congregations, Bible study groups, Sunday schools, elementary schools, youth groups, and gatherings of friends. Our pastors are also available for preaching at worship services.
316NOW shares information about the Chinese culture with American Christians. God has been remarkably generous to China, the most populous nation in the world. We share the stories of those blessings. We also highlight the spiritual challenges there so believers here can consider how God has positioned them to help.
Our presentations are planned to last about 45 minutes. This can vary depending on the number of questions or comments. Presentations can be in-person or online. We prefer that our travel costs are covered; that allows us to use those funds for ministry in China. We are happy to work with groups on ways to cover costs.
