316NOW’s Mentoring and Consulting Ministry

316NOW’s Mentoring and Consulting Ministry (MCM) is central to enabling 316NOW to achieve its goal of helping to create a Confessional Lutheran movement across China. MCM is a finishing school for our students who lead congregations and a consulting service for the churches they lead.

Our Bible institute, our Sheep to Lambs division, and our marriage and family ministry all support the work of MCM.

Since the teachings of the government-approved church in China (the Three-Self Patriotic Movement) do not align with the Bible, Confessional Lutheran Christians in China will form their own churches. This is challenging because non-registered churches are illegal and because there are very few Confessional Lutheran churches to serve as models. MCM provides a team of trained consultants to help Christians develop into model Confessional Lutheran groups.

MCM consultants also pair students who show potential to become Confessional Lutheran leaders with American pastors who serve as mentors. These pastors regularly advise and spiritually support them.
