A bald head does not worry about losing hair

“A bald head does not worry about losing hair.”

That’s what one of 316NOW pastor-friends in China responded when a leader in his church suggested that our visiting U.S. pastor should not address his congregation.

Pastor Enlai has been a student with 316NOW online Bible institute for many years. Over that time 316NOW has not only taught him about God’s Word, our faculty members have stood by him during times of frustration and disappointment.

I am thankful

“I am so thankful for the teaching and encouragements I received from the Bible institute pastors in my times of struggle,” he says.  "When two of those pastors visited me four years ago, I was so touched, I couldn't help but be in tears.”

One of those faculty members says of Pastor Enlai, “He is an energetic, bold pastor who has led his congregation to grow from 60 members to over 300 in five years." 

An invitation

Last fall when one of our faculty members visited Pastor Enlai’s area, he made arrangements for our teacher to address his congregation. But an elder from the church objected. He was fearful that a Westerners presence at a church assembly could cause problems in the community for them. 

Standing on the promises

Pastor Enlai responded, “No, I am a pastor, I have authority to invite my teacher to speak out God's truth. There’s nothing to fear. A bald head does not worry about losing hair.” 

The God of grace promised Jeremiah something similar. “I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall; and they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you; for I am with you to save you and deliver you” (Jeremiah 15:20-21).
