MINISTRY//Calm after conflict

Because of the political situation in China, 316NOW did not send professors to China this fall. However, the assistant to our division administrators is traveling in China for us. She is able to travel in China because she lived in China until she was a young adult. She is now a naturalized citizen of the U.S. She shares this story.

False teachers

One of the churches we work with has been unable to function properly because four key leaders have fallen into wrong teachings about the way we are right with God. Their teaching has no gospel, only law.

These leaders have insisted that they have spiritual authority to proclaim God’s judgment on anyone who opposes them. They claimed that God often directly gives them special dreams and special messages. They insisted that to challenge what they say is to challenge God.

Truth teachers

Fortunately, one of our students was able to lead most members of this church to stand up for what the Bible actually teaches. Our student worked with two other church leaders to show the errors in the teachings of the four teachers who troubled this congregation. Our student’s group has now left their former church and has begun meeting in a new place.

God has allowed me to encourage the members of this new church. I have also spent individual time with a number of members. This has become a thankful and joyful time for these Christians after a long time of hardship.
