NEWS//The Aizhai Bridge

China's Aizhai Bridge is the world's highest and longest tunnel-to-tunnel bridge roadway.

The bridge spans nearly 3900 feet over the Dehang Canyon. It towers almost 1200 feet above the canyon floor.

The bridge is part of an expressway from southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality to Changsha. It is named for the nearby town of Aizhai. The bridge shortens the journey time between Chongqing and Changsha from several days to just eight hours. The deck carries six lanes of traffic with a pedestrian walkway underneath.
