MINISTRY//Pray for China

MINISTRY//Pray for China

I appreciated the reminder.

A friend of our ministry recently emailed to say, “I join many in thanking God for the work that you do.”

“How sad,” he continued, “that the Chinese government fears us [Christians] and persecutes us, when we pray for them and want them to succeed in their governing duties!”

“Because the Bible teaches us to obey the government in all things, no government, not even the Chinese government, has anything to fear from Christians who follow the Bible. Christian citizens are generally obedient citizens….”

Then came the reminder: Talk more about the respect, obedience, and prayer a Christian willingly gives his government.

Now is a good time for 316NOW to do that. Despite the challenges Chinese Christians face, in our teachings we urge them to “submit to the governing authorities. For no authority exists except by God, and the authorities that do exist have been established by God” (Romans 13:1).

We also urge that our Christian friends in China pray for their government. We join them in those prayers.

We echo the Apostle Paul who urged “that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all those who are in authority, in order that we might live a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and dignity” (1 Timothy 2:1-3 EHV).

I appreciate our friend’s reminder. It’s a God-honoring practice for us American Christians. It’s good for Christians everywhere to practice toward China’s government.

What you can do: (1) Pray for China’s government. (2) Share your encouragement or advice with us. Our email is 316NOW@316NOW.org
