The Hong Kong protests have taken on a Christian aspect.
Crowds are singing Sing Hallelujah to the Lord on the streets of the city when protesters gather.
Christians began to use the song starting two months ago as an opportunity to witness and a signal of their peaceful intentions. But the song has taken on a broader audience because religious gatherings in Hong Kong have a legal status that other gatherings of people do not (see Hong Kong’s Public Order Ordinance).
