MINISTRY//Full steam ahead
“Since 316NOW didn’t make a mission trip to China last fall, what is 316NOW doing?”
A friend of 316NOW asked that recently. The answer is, “A lot.”
But let’s focus on just one part of 316NOW’s ministry.
Bible institute
We continue to train almost 200 students a week in our online Bible institute. That number has remained constant despite the coronavirus. The institute is the hub of our grace across China NOW ministry. In these courses, Chinese Christians study Books of the Bible and theology. They also take practical ministry courses that help them shepherd God’s people, courses like preaching, teaching, leading worship, and witnessing.
It is through the Bible institute that we encourage these Christian leaders to a more accurate understanding of the Bible. God willing, someday a number of them will work side-by-side with Confessional Lutherans in China.
Mission Trips
Our mission trips to China are important to our ministry. We are determined to resume those trips as soon as the health situation and the political situation improves. In the meantime, the core of our work is operating at full steam. And church leaders in China are better positioned to serve the Savior, his people, and those yet to become his people.
What you can do: Thank God that all our Bible institute faculty members have remained healthy. Pray that the institute will train more church leaders in China. Pray that, through those leaders and their sheep, the gospel comes to millions more in China.
