Iran is working on a deal that will give it relief from the oppressive international sanctions it is struggling under. China is working on a deal that will provide a vast reservoir of oil that will fuel its economy.

A deal that benefits Iran

Iran will benefit from Chinese cash, telecom infrastructure, improved seaports and airports, high-speed railways and subways, and greater control over its cyberspace. Free-trade zones in regions of Iran also boost its economy.

A deal that benefits China

China gains a cheap oil supply. It also deepens its strategic links in the Middle East, while demonstrating it is a formidable player in the game of global politics. In addition, the pact offers military co-operation between the countries, including joint training and exercises, joint research and weapons development, and intelligence sharing.
