2020-21 ministry update: Education Division

316NOW's ministry planning meeting for the 2020-21 fiscal year took place in June.

"The amount of time the board took for discussion and prayer was remarkable," our executive director said.   "Our board members -- scattered across the county -- gathered online on each of the four Thursdays in June.  They came prepared to discuss our plans. And they came determined that 316NOW must find ways to proclaim grace across China NOW. ‘NOW’ because our ability to work in China is probably short. What a blessing these Christians are to our ministry." 

Education Division plans

316NOW's ministry is shared by four divisions. Here's an overview of 316NOW's plans for the Education Division. We'll report on the other three divisions in the next weeks.

By June 2021, the Education Division will have

• adopted a new 3-level curriculum for its Bible institute. The new curriculum will provide a clearer approach to our goal of helping to establish a Confessional Lutheran movement in China.

• rewritten and translated 75% of the courses in the newly revised curriculum.

• restructured the organization of the Education Division, complete with written job descriptions for each role in the organization.  All the roles will be filled with qualified personnel. 

• an enrollment of 230 students in the Bible institute. That's a 20% increase in students.

• added and trained two faculty members in order to accommodate the growing student body. That will bring the size of our faculty to 24.
