316NOW's board of directors is composed of men who are educators, businessmen, and pastors; some are employed, some are retired; Every board member is a Confessional Lutheran who is grateful for God's grace in Jesus and who wants every soul to come to faith in that grace.
In the paragraphs below, one of those board members reflects on his role in 316NOW's grace across China ministry. Now retired, he was an executive for an international company. His job took him to China several times a year.
I am a board member
I agreed to be on the board of directors for 316NOW because of the work it does in teaching sound gospel to the people of China.
A relatively small percentage of Chinese have heard of Jesus. Those Christians many misconceptions about God. Many false teachers mislead them. The government is playing an ever-increasing role in what it wants the church to teach. That limits Christians from hearing the truth and churches from teaching the truth.
316NOW teaches the leaders of churches. That enables it to reach a much larger audience with the truth.
While I don’t have the background to help in course development or with teaching, I help by leading on a board level, serving as the board secretary, being on committees, and supporting the work financially. I don't have the gifts to do everything for 316NOW, but God has given me an important role. As Romans 12:6 says, "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us."
316NOW helps my faith. I am inspired by the pastors and others who are part of 316NOW. Their unwavering commitment to teaching God’s Word is admirable.
