NEWS//Chinese church celebrates communism

The Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), China's official Protestant organization, is heaping high praise on the China Communist Party (CCP) as it celebrates the centennial of its founding. Below are several examples:

  • An exhibition of the CCP's influence on Christianity is called, One Heart, One Virtue, One Path: Chinese Christianity Loves the Party, the Country, and Socialism

  • Signs at the exhibition

    • Without the Communist Party, there would be no New China, no socialism with Chinese characteristics, and it would be impossible to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

    • The advanced members of the Christian community have always been of one mind and one direction with the Party, leaving a beautiful footprint and bearing wonderful witness.

  • Pastor Xiu Xiaohong, chairman of the Central Committee of the Three-Self Church

    • History fully proves that without the CCP, there is no religious policy that is supported by both believers and non-believers, there is no social environment for the healthy development of religion in China, and there is no good situation where all religions in China can live in harmony.

    • The aim of the Christian Church in China is to contribute to the great goal of building a modern Socialist country, and work and pray for a bright and more glorious tomorrow in the next century under the leadership of the CCP.

  • Ding Yang, Catholic officiant at a mass called “Grateful and Praise for the CCP Pilgrimage to Pay Respect to St. Mary.”

    • The Church should organically unify ‘Love Party, Love Country, and Love Socialism’ and faith; boldly speak about politics, while speaking about faith in accordance with law.

  • Liu Yuanlong, vice president of the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association

    • God has chosen the Chinese Communist Party.
