MINISTRY//Tell and show

One of our Bible institute students wrote to her professor, "Pastor, thanks for all your done. Your devotions inspired me and gave me ways to read the Bible and to pray to God. Thank you. Best wishes to you from our God. I am sending my respects to you in Jesus,"

What had this professor been doing that prompted this thank you? Of course, he had been clearly teaching God's Word and showing Jesus' love for his students. But he had been doing more. His online ministry didn't end after a 90-minute class once a week. After the pandemic struck, he began to pen daily devotions that he shared with about 80 of our students in China.

In grace-prompted humility our professor notes, "All of that training that my classmates and I received to become pastors was not just for us. It was for the work our Lord would give us each to do. I do whatever I do, because the Lord has trained my hand (no matter how poorly I use that training) to help our Chinese friends."

What you can do: Thank God for the dedicated pastors who teach in our online Bible institute. They not only teach about God's grace in Jesus, they live it out for our students.
