MINISTRY / God's Word is not chained
Communication with our friends in China is becoming more dangerous.
China’s internet surveillance
China's FBI is paying more attention to the people who are communicating with each other online. They pay special attention to anyone who gathers people online or in person for worship or Bible study. They pay extra special attention when Western Christians use the internet in China to communicate about the gospel.
316NOW’s adjustments
For that reason, 316NOW has adjusted the way we communicate online. We only use a secure teaching platform for our Bible institute classes. Because they are open to Chinese eavesdropping, we do not use any Chinese messaging apps or social media. We do not use email.
The Word is not chained
Although our options for proclaiming grace across China are more limited than ever, the Spirit continues to use 316NOW to share the gospel there. After coming to a near standstill last spring because of Chinese restrictions, our Bible institute classes have begun again. Our new liaison is recruiting additional students and introducing himself to house churches. Our strategy for reaching Chinese expatriates is taking shape.
The imprisoned Apostle Paul's declaration remains true: "God’s word is not chained" (2 Timothy 2:9).
For that we praise God and move forward with courage.
What you can do: Continue to pray for 316NOW’s gospel outreach in China. Ask the Spirit to keep his promise that his Word can never be chained in China or anywhere.
