MINISTRY / A friend's treasured encouragement

Last week I received an encouraging letter from a friend of 316NOW's grace across China NOW ministry. He referenced the Chinese government's tightening restrictions on its portion of the internet and the challenges that presents to our outreach there.

Then he wrote:

All these developments are very disheartening. And yet we must trust that our God is so wise and powerful that he can make a good thing come out of a bad thing. The last days must be getting nearer…. All of this ought to make us more diligent and hard working to spread the gospel message everywhere we can. May God bless your work and continue to protect the Chinese Christians under your care.

In his P.S., he added that he will request that his Monday Bible study adds 316NOW to its prayer list.

What a wonderful encouragement! At 316NOW, we regularly remind ourselves, God is greater. But that message is lovingly -- and dramatically -- reinforced when our American friends echo those words back to us.

How we treasure

• the thousands of Christians who share our concern for Chinese souls,

• the prayers they present to our Father about our ministry to those souls, and

• the reminders that our Savior will keep his promise that the gates of hell cannot stand against the power of his grace.
