MINISTRY / Prayers for Shanyuan

Would you make room on your prayer list for one of our close Chinese friends?

Each week 316NOW compiles news about China that caught our attention. Tap here to see those archives.

Shanyuan

I'll call her Shanyuan. She has been a key part of our ministry for close to 15 years. In addition to interpreting for our online classes, Shanyuan has frequently served as the guide and interpreter for our professors when they taught in China. She has translated some of our Bible study materials into Mandarin. She has advised us on ministering in a Chinese-context. She has helped gather groups into house churches wherever she has lived in China.

But at the beginning of this year, Shanyuan was diagnosed with a severe eye condition. Her doctor has forbidden her to spend time on her computer or phone. Reading and television viewing are also restricted.

Prayer need

Because she is faced with health challenges like this, we have held Shanyuan up in prayer since we learned of her difficulties. Would you also pray for Shanyuan's physical and spiritual health? Ask the Savior whose power over physical disabilities is limitless to heal Shanyuan. While she and her husband wait for that healing, ask that they fully rest in the assurance that, no matter how it may seem, our gracious Father can never leave or forsake them. Finally, ask the Spirit to raise up additional translators and interpreters who are able to assist 316NOW in proclaiming grace across China.

Thank you.
