MINISTRY / Brother Cheng's example

MINISTRY / Brother Cheng's example

The power of example

"I am so grateful for Cheng's example," a Chinese Christian told me about a leader in her house church. "He always has Bibles to give as gifts. He shares his faith with others. He sends Scripture passages on social media. He has taught me to tell others about Jesus."

"When I visited friends recently," my friend continued, "I took Bibles along. I regularly send Scripture graphics to a cousin of mine who isn't a Christian. When he received the last one, he send me a thumbs-up emoji. I don't think that means he believes in Jesus, but it's a step in the right direction. Brother Cheng's example has given me the courage to tell others about Jesus."

Light in a dark world

I continue to be impressed, if not humbled, by the way Chinese Christians share their faith and encourage each other to share their faith. Many of the Christian I know were brought to faith when they were adults. They know the dreariness, the hopelessness of life without God's grace. They want to help rescue others from their dead-end lives, lives that will literally end in never-ending death.

316NOW strives to stand with Christians in China to encourage them, teach them, and help them bring God's good news to many more. Your prayers help us to do that. So do your gifts. For that we thank you.
