MINISTRY / Today's news from 316NOW

At this morning's Administrative Team meeting, our division leaders celebrated the many ways the Spirit continues to bless and expand our gospel outreach to the Chinese people. Here are several highlights:

  • Our online Bible institute continues to attract eager students. One group of students has just finished a course, but, without taking a break, wants to launch into another study. We have a professor for their next course, but not an interpreter. Please add that to your prayers.

  • Our liaison for our Chinese students (he is a Confessional Lutheran pastor who lives in China) is planning on personally visiting a number of groups. During his time with them, he will host two-day workshops on topics that will help their groups grow spiritually.

  • The Sheep to Lambs Division is on track to publish another level of materials Chinese parents can use to teach their grade school children Bible stories. (Church-led Sunday schools are illegal in China.) They are also investigating the need for us to develop materials for teenagers.

  • We are taking the next steps toward implementing our outreach to expatriate Chinese. (There are 50,000,000 scattered throughout the world!) God willing, the first phase of that ministry plan will be in place by the end of June. Please pray that the Spirit will soon direct us to people who can advise us about marketing our Bible institute to an ex-pat Chinese audience.
