MINISTRY / Plans for the next fiscal years

MINISTRY / Plans for the next fiscal years

God willing, what will 316NOW's ministry look like twelve months from now? Three years from now?

Our ministry plan for 2023-24 and beyond

That was the main topic of 316NOW's Administrative Team (AT) monthly meeting this morning. Here are some of the highlights.

  • Our Education Division will continue to train Chinese lay leaders to become Confessional Lutherans who carefully shepherd and grow their house churches. Our online Bible institute will prepare for a growing student body because of larger numbers of students from China and students from our expatriate outreach efforts. We anticipate implementing a deaconess training program.

  • By November our Expatriate Outreach Division will have a new website, will have a new team of volunteers, and will begin inviting expatriate Chinese Christians to attend our Bible institute.

  • Because our Education Division and our Ex-pat Division will work with more leaders, our Mentoring and Consulting Ministry Division sees growing opportunities for advising more students and their house churches. Those opportunities will also increase because our liaison is able to travel more freely in China.

  • Both our Sheep to Lambs Division and our new Family and Marriage Division predict training more Chinese church leaders to better care for the souls of children, for their families, and for the marriages of Christians and non-Christians. Both divisions will produce materials for Chinese audiences.

These are ambitious plans. They are especially ambitious for an organization that depends on volunteers for 95% of its ministry. However, none of our plans outpace our God's power and determination to bring souls under his grace. Jesus' resurrection shows there are no plans that stretch beyond his grace. That's where we place our trust. Our God is always greater.
