Dave’s testimony

"Dave" and I met this morning to work on a 316NOW board assignment. Dave is one of the leaders of our board. That conversation led to Dave's sharing the reasons he is committed to helping 316NOW proclaim grace across China and beyond.

Dave did not grow up in a Christian family. He was first introduced to Christianity when he was 12. His friend Jimmy invited him to attend a worship service. It would take a couple decades, however, before the Spirit broke down Dave's unbelief. Now because he knows what life is like without Jesus, he is driven to rescue Chinese people from that life.

But Dave also talked about some of the benefits he is receiving as a 316NOW board member. "At every board meeting, I see the dedication of our administrators and board members. It's inspiring to see their love for Jesus and faith in Jesus. I come away wanting more of that in my life. I feel like the man who said to Jesus, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’” (Mark 9:24).

The Spirit has blessed 316NOW with board members, administrators, faculty members, and other volunteers who are like Dave. Each one has a different story to tell about their faith journey, but each one has been created and shaped to benefit 316NOW. For that, we offer our grateful thanks.
