Personal outreach to Chinese expats
Recently, I had a delightful conversation with a Lutheran husband and wife who have befriended a 15-year-old Chinese boy and his 20-year-old sister. They have recently immigrated to the United States with their parents. Both have passable English skills, but their parents do not.
The husband and wife are helping the siblings improve their English. They are using Bible stories to do that. They are praying for the time when this brother and sister are ready for baptism and confirmation. Beyond that, they are praying for conversations to open with the sibling's parents, and then others in their city's Chinese community.
The husband and wife’s relationship with this young man and young woman started when they struck up a conversation with them at their parents' restaurant.
Your outreach to Chinese expats
The Spirit may also have given you opportunities to get to know Chinese expats in your area. Show them grace-filled friendship. Talk with them. Look for ways you can help them. Offer your help.
