Ministry / Enhancing the strategy to reach expatriates
“Fifty million Chinese do not live in China. If they formed their own country, they would be the 30th most populous on the planet,” says Jim Aderman, a member of 316NOW’s Expatriate Outreach Team. “What an impact the gospel would have if 316NOW could train the Christians among those 50,000,000 people to lead house churches.”
A better job
316NOW began its efforts to invite potential house church leaders to train at our online Bible institute earlier this year. Since then, the Expatriate Outreach Team has not stopped asking how it can do a better job reaching more potential leaders.
Studies show that online marketing strategies take many months and considerable resources to mature. Our Expatriate Outreach Team is committed to meeting that challenge.
Constant improvements
Hundreds of people have responded to our social media advertisements. Over the months, the team has learned how to adjust those ads to catch the attention of more Chinese Christians. The team has tinkered with the text of the ads, the graphics in the ads, as well as the website that the ads point to.
Tomorrow (July 30) the Team meets to discuss approaches to designing an introductory course that will better capture the interest of our audience. A video-assisted self-study course is high on the list of solutions.
“The road to training more expatriate Christians as house church leaders is long, but the goal of sharing Jesus with more people is worth the effort,” Aderman says.
