MINISTRY//An invitation prompts prayer

One of 316NOW's friends answers the question, Why do you pray for and support 316NOW? It has everything to do with an invitation.

When I was 12 years old, my neighborhood friend Jimmy invited me to a church meeting for kids. I had never been to church before, but I went. We played games and heard a Bible story. Then Jimmy invited me to church and I went.

A year later at 13, I was baptized. Two years later we moved to another state and I did not return to church much. However, God led me to meet a Christian girl in high school and we married several years later.

I continued to go to church occasionally. Later in life, I had a serious health scare which caused me to think about slowing down. I retired two years later. I began to go to Bible classes each week, and as the Scriptures were opened to me, I became a true believer.

I can now look back at how God worked in my life to bring me to faith. It started with an invitation.

Through 316NOW great numbers of people who have not been to church are being invited to learn about Jesus.
