MINISTRY / It's time for prayer
My WeChat social media messages multiplied over the weekend. Greetings from Chinese friends poured in. Sunday was the first day of the Lunar New Year, the most important annual holiday for Chinese people.
Lunar New Year
Throughout China (and wherever people from Southeast Asia live), the Year of the Rabbit was joyously greeted with family gatherings, parties, dumplings, and fireworks. Normally, the celebration of New Year and the Spring Festival that follows immediately means most people in China travel to visit relatives. Although Covid is limiting travel again this year, in the past, it's been the largest annual migration of humans in history. Learn more about the Lunar New Year here.
A time for prayer
316NOW has chosen this point in the calendar to encourage special prayer time for the spiritual welfare of China. We call it 15 Days of Prayer because this national holiday extends over 15 days. Our website has more information about 15 Days of Prayer.
Join us in prayer. Download your prayer guide with prayer suggestions for each of those 15 days. Tap here.
God willing, next year's celebration of the Lunar New Year in China will find hundreds of millions more people celebrating the new life they have in Jesus.
Thank you!
