Ministry / Expatriate Outreach update

Last week we reported on the challenges our Expatriate Outreach Team is working to overcome as 316NOW seeks to invite Chinese Christians who live outside China to train as house church leaders. You can read that post here. What follows is an update from last week’s meeting.

A new team member

A Confessional Lutheran Chinese pastor has joined the Outreach Team. He recently moved from China to the United States. That means he personally understands what it is like to be an expatriate Chinese Christian living in the U.S. With his strong desire to reach Chinese people with the gospel and his experience with online communication, the Spirit has provided the Team with another highly qualified member.

Already at work

Our new team member has begun reaching out to Mandarin speakers who have expressed interest in our online Bible institute. He is setting up classes with them, classes that will start in the next days.

He has also begun to work on scripts for four short videos on Bible basics. These video will provide potential students with a sense of what our classes are like before they commit to enroll in our online institute. The video series planned next will focus on training students to share Jesus with others.

Thanking God

Please, thank God with the Expatriate Outreach Team for the ways he is blessing this ministry.
